About HSMN Planten
Called by nature, driven by restoration
HSMN Planten was born from a deep interest in native plants and the Dutch landscape. HSMN Planten sees how exotic plants are slowly displacing native vegetation and what effect that has on our insects, birds and small mammals.
The mission is simple: every garden, every park and every public space deserves a living network of native plants. HSMN Planten takes care of the native plants, so that together we can take care of a better nature.

How do we grow our plants?
At HSMN Planten we grow our plants among different native species. At our nursery on the Veluwe, chickens roam freely among the plants — they help naturally with pest control and fertilise the soil. Where possible, we give the plants collected rainwater. During cultivation we do not use chemical pesticides ourselves. We focus on natural growth, healthy soil and appropriate care. Our seeds come from the Netherlands or the neighbouring border region.

HSMN Planten is a Dutch native plant nursery that focuses entirely on native plants: species that naturally occur in the Netherlands and play an indispensable role in our ecosystem. I supply private gardeners, municipalities, landscapers and nature organisations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Every plant in the range has been selected for ecological value. Native planting provides food, shelter and nesting opportunities for thousands of insect species and over 200 bird species.
I believe a garden can be more than a beautiful place. A garden can become a living network that contributes to restoring the Dutch natural landscape.
